Guests are welcome to use the garden in summer. The garden is natural, full of local flowers, old fashioned roses rambling through the fruit trees, masses of first violets, forget-me-nots, daffodils, iris and poppies.

A walled garden, with a little summerhouse and a couple of  ponds, there are also old apple and pear trees, raspberries, strawberries, rhubarb and asparagus.
Many tables and chairs are scattered throughout the garden for guests to relax peacefully during the day. Make friends with Lucy, our resident goose, who provides us with huge fresh eggs which we serve for breakfast when she feels like laying. She attracts the local ducks and moorhens.

The garden is full of wild birds. We have green woodpecker, the diminutive goldcrest, yellow wagtail as well as the usual garden birds, and generations of jackdaws use the house as their home too. At night you will fall asleep to the call of owls hooting across the valley.

At the front of the house there are tables and chairs in sunny nooks under the wisteria or beside the conservatory.
